Big East Statement On Louisville Heading To ACC
Just released from the Big East
STATEMENT OF BIG EAST COMMISSIONER MIKE ARESCO
REGARDING DEPARTURE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE
We enjoyed having Louisville in the Big East Conference and we wish them well.
The Big East has anticipated the continuing realignment that is reshaping college athletics and has already made important additions as part of our vision for the future. We will continue moving forward to fulfill that vision, which includes a strong national football conference and a strong and storied basketball conference. Big East teams will continue to compete and succeed at the highest level and, as always, will combine athletic and academic excellence. With schools stretching from coast to coast and in many of the top U.S. media markets, the Big East has become a truly national conference with outstanding young men and women competing across a full range of sports.
We are committed to a vibrant and dynamic future for the Big East Conference.

Mike: Walked into a hornets nest huh! I’d like to say that” these challenges are opportunities for success” but this is crazy. As a UCONN season ticket holder, the new Big East is the really the Big Least. New members leaving, new members looking to leave and traditional members leaving so with that being said, don’t try to spin this bad situation because most of us just don’t believe it or want to hear it. Bottom line to me is, the league is looking like the new Conference USA with what’s left of the Big East.Nice!
Hey Mike…You anticipated getting beat over the head huh?? What other quick phone calls and tactics do you have?? Nothing goes on behind the scenes huh? How do you explain the knee jerk response of adding East Carolina(exciting!!) ….and Tulane??? Ahh thats right ..the papres reported that in case UCONN or Louiville gets selected we will add East Carolina and Freakin Tulane??..By the way ..Storied BIGEAST is just a FOOTNOTE in History. Big TV Contract comming?? nahh..Also whats your grand plan when Boise, and SDSU go elsewhere?? Ahh i get it now…Your the AUCTIONEER…makes sense
