John Driscoll UConn ’81 Set To Receive Outstanding Contribution Award From UConn Club

STORRS, Conn. (April 12, 2012) – John Driscoll, Jr., ’81 will receive the A.J. Pappanikou Outstanding Contribution Award from the UConn Club on Monday, April 16 when the group holds its 59th Annual Awards Dinner at Gampel Pavilion.
Driscoll graduated from UConn with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, received his law degree from Dickinson School of Law and his Master of Laws degree from the Boston University School of Law.
He is a past President for the UConn Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is also a director and a past President of the UConn Club and a former member of the Greater Hartford Jaycees.
Driscoll is a Senior Vice President and Relationship Manager for the New Haven, Hartford, Stamford, Waterbury, Boston and Providence offices of Webster Private Bank. Driscoll has over 26 years of experience in investment, financial, estate and tax planning, and charitable giving specializing in their applications to high-net-worth individuals, senior corporate executives and closely held business owners.
Prior to joining Webster in 2007, Driscoll was the Group Head for the Estate and Financial Planning Department for the New England Region of the United States Trust Company, N.A. overseeing ten financial and estate planning professionals serving four offices in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Prior to U.S. Trust, John was a Senior Tax Manager at Arthur Andersen LLP with over six years of experience concentrating in personal financial planning and family wealth planning. He also spent over five years as a tax attorney at CIGNA Financial Advisors’ (now Lincoln National) Advanced Planning department.
Driscoll is a member and a past director of the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford and of the Connecticut Estate and Tax Planning Council, and a member of the Estate Planning Council of Lower Fairfield County and the Estate and Tax Planning Council of Eastern Connecticut. He is a past member of the Planned Giving Advisory Board of the Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Hartford, the Professional Advisory Board for the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy.
In addition to being a tax attorney, Driscoll is a Certified Financial Planner, a Chartered Life Underwriter and a Chartered Financial Consultant. He is a member of the Connecticut and American Bar Association, the Sports Lawyers Association and is one of the founders of and past Vice Chairman of the Sports and Entertainment Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association.
Driscoll and his wife, Nancy, and their children, John III, Kerry and Bridget live in Glastonbury, Conn.
