I DO——CANT SEE
Ok
IM NOT SNOBALLING DEZ—BUT YOU HAVE TO WONDER WHY BC LET BOYLE GO IF HE WAS THAT GOOD.IM JUST SAYIN A BIG KID WHO CAN POCKET PASS LIKE LAGOW,IS SUITED WELL FOR UCONNS OFFENSE.IF THEY ARE GONNA GO WITH SOME WEST COAST OFFENS YOU WOULD THINK HES THE MAN.
I think BC was going to a system that involved the dual threat QB. I think they told Boyle that. I think he understood he wasn’t going to thrive in the system they were leaning toward whih wasn’t pro style…also with snowballing I meant the process of continuing to sign top state players from here on out…don’t need caps buddy thanks
in response dez ive seen both ct.qb recruits because im an avid h.s. football fan.i think cochran was a good h.s.qb feasting in a weak league and i think boyle has reaped the benefits of his high schools success on defense and running game which produced easy passing situations.to be honest,i think recruiting in state to build uconns program is a bad move.there arent enough d-1 talents in state to do that.you will get a couple every year, but not enough to build .your better off in texas,florida,va.,p.a. etc. to get the big timers.
Have to make a better effort to keep best at home. I didnt, unfortunately, see Casey play a single game in high school. As I mentioned I have seen Boyle. I think you’re diminishing the kid. I do. I don’t think the majority of people who saw him would agree with you on your assessment of how and why he thrived at X. Now you can say 2400 yards, he had the Luster kid and a few others to help him there but somebody had to catch the ball on the 24 TDs. The ones I saw werent of the looney tunes variety. I mean he’s dropping balls in spots. He’s dropping balls in hands. He had a tough time with Hand but who didnt? If you want to say he’s not a five-star kid that’s fine but I think to call him average is a little off the mark….UConn can’t sustain itself just recruiting CT kids – the point of this year is that they, for the most part, got the best the state had to offer this year and it got six kids. Maybe next time when Florida or ND or somebody like that calls a kid, maybe, maybe they say I’m staying home…that’s the point I think and then you try to snowball that thing
If it was true that Lagow was tweeting that if he wasn’t the only QB in his class then he would have to reconsider, then I understand HCPP’s decision to take Taylor or Boyle. Not much downside. Actually, the moment Boyle became available, politically HCPP could not pass him up. Add that to Lagow trying to be the tail wagging the dog, and I think the UConn decision was an easy one. C U later and best of luck generating other offers, Mr. Texas 5A.
why is that embarrasing? whats embarrasing is being uninformed.
Uniformed … Good word… Have you seen either of the QBs play a full, competitive game? I haven’t seen Taylor. I’ve seen Boyle that’s why I made the statement because if you have you can’t legitimately say that kid is an average QB – now if you’re basing your comments on the star system, even more so. What have you based the average QB statement on? Have you seen Lagow play a full, competitive game? All I’m saying is we probably need to see these guys before making statements like that – make sense?
Boyle appears to have a cannon for an arm which will only get stronger. How he does under college pressure, ability to pick up coverages, looking off the defenders, etc., is anyone’s guess. That is why you need several — to see who coaches up the best. He is a prototype for this O, however.
confused about LAGOW.you reported he came from a highly competitive program.hes a 6-6 qb with a 3 star rating, and uconn is messing around with state h.s.qbs who are to be honest very avg. at best.
What an embarrassing statement
Props to Coach P and his staff for this class. I feel like it’s a solid group. I like that fact that we have been able to attract some seemingly solid QB talent.
If I was a 4 star receiver looking for a place I can go and make an immediate impact (ie play) I think I would have to give UConn a solid look.
One question. What are you hearing about Jalan Branford? He committed via twitter yesterday. Is he not enrolling in school for 2013 season?
Hey Des
Just watched a video of Andreas Knappe. Very quick feet for a big guy. Must be training with Riverdance.
I’d like to go a few rounds with him but my back has been acting up!
Lol!!!
