Clete, do not even stop at the bench. Head to the locker room and hand in your equipment. Suspended for the rest of the season.

Possibly permanently for the Special Olympics remark. I can’t speak for Dez but as for myself I hope to never see you here again unless you can come up with a excuse for that statement.

I use the word excuse because there is no viable reason to use a comparison like that. I hope you are just a ignorant impostor and not a UConn fan…

Obviously born from the silver spoon to have never known or thought of someone wheel chair bound or with other disabilities that compete.

    GO SPECIAL OLYIMPIANS!!!!!!!!

    Clete,
You are clueless and that comment is offensive on several levels. You have to start somewhere and UCONN did a great job of getting to the Highest level of FBall in a fairly short amount of time. Sure they had some breaks but it started with a vision, determination, great work ethic, and Leader. Randy Edsall was a strong leader and led UCONN FB to places it had never been. If he didn’t leave UCONN would still be competing for the BE Championship year after year.
It takes strong leadership, determination and a great work ethic to compete with the Best.
The difference is we had all of those things and now we are missing an important part. So now all of that Momentum is dissapating and Coach PP had plenty of chances to keep this Program winning games and making bowls. UCONN doesn’t have the most talented team in BE but they surely have enough talent to compete and make/win bowl games.
This season as well as last have been disappointing for several reasons but there is no excuse on how we loose games we should be winning(ISU,VANDY,WMU & NCSU,WMU,Temple). These aren’t games we could’ve won but rather games we Should’ve won but didn’t.

UCONN will be back on top of the BE once they get the right leader in place.

I’m not so sure uconn is the best team in New England. If uconn played New Hampshire tomorrow the game is a toss up.

    • RST says:

I might actually agree with that, Freddy. But you have to read more carefully and precisely. I said FBS team:):)

This just in from College Football News “Who’s Hot and Who’s Not”…under “Who’s Not”:

    “8. Connecticut
Just pull the plug. Yank it hard, yank it fast, but just yank it. Paul Pasqualoni looked like an odd choice when he was hired to replace Randy Edsall, and hasn’t become any more acceptable since. His Huskies, owners of a three-game losing streak, are staring down the barrel of a second straight losing season. Connecticut reached a new low on Friday night, getting blasted by Syracuse, 40-10, in the Carrier Dome. The offense has been necrotic all year, but when the legs go out on the trusted D, Pasqualoni’s kids have exhausted all options in their quest for competitiveness.”

  5. RST says:

As bad as things are today, just think. UConn is still the best FBS team in New England [tongue firmly in cheek];);)

Dez, I can’t sit in on the chat tomorrow, but I’d like to post this question/comment:

It’s time (right?) to realize that the BCS berth a couple years ago was a fluke in a mediocre conference, and the game itself showed that we have no business playing against the likes of Oklahoma. Better to take a minute and decide whether we really want to try to compete at a high level, or decide to not worry about it and just be a great basketball school.

Winning the Big East football title is like winning a silver medal in the Special Olympics. You don’t have to be very good to get the silver, and you’re definitely ending your season with a loss.

    • Mike says:

Clete,we played by the same rules as everyone else in the nation. We beat who we had to beat on our schedule. We were 10 points down in the second half. We earned our way there. You are the one that should be aware that a scam and a con have been perpetrated on us. This is not a D1 coaching staff. Their methodology is/was a system used 10 years ago. This is a program in big trouble right now ….the bottom feeders of D1. What recruit who watched that game and has a choice is going to come here.

      • Clete says:

To your first point: I remember that season, but it never seemed like we really belonged in the same class as OK…maybe just my perception, having spent a lot of time in Big 12 and $EC country.

To your second point: absolutely right. Paul and his gang of mediocre retreads aren’t just killing these seasons, they’re creating a culture of losing that makes it impossible to recruit. Anybody who can play at a high level can choose 50 schools before UConn.

Connecticut had to beat West Virginia that year, ask Sio Moore if he deserved to play in a BCS game that year.
