Live Chat Tuesday 11 A.M.
What’s goin on, folks?
Signing Day is among us and there have been changes within the UConn Football program.
Is that a reason at least for a little optimism heading into the 2013 season or are we in for much of what we’ve seen the past two seasons?
Let’s get a gauge of at least where you are with the progress of the program since December.
We can chop it up Tuesday in a live chat here from 11 a.m. to noon. Go to www.courant.com/uconnfbchat to join.
Feel free to add questions as early as 10:45. I’ll be along at 11 to try to answer them.
Talk to you Tuesday,
DC

Plan on being there Artie …
Scout is reporting Chris Britton commits to UConn!
Will be here Jan.2014 tweeted it earlier
Let’s wait and get it form the horses mouth on Wednesday before everyone gets their panties in a bunch.
I am sure MANY of us are going to question the staff on what we can expect or not personally as they work the room pre-introductions. Everyone will have access to Paul, George, TJ, Hank, etc. Oh I forgot Warde…
There is usually a Q @ A with the HC following introductions. No need to be rude but no need to be shy either gentlemen.
Logic is that we will see “the same system” with a different OC making the calls..I believe both HCPP and Deleone will allow the guy some latitude however, I don’t think he will be in complete control of the offense as long as Deleone is around ..lets see what product lands on the field this fall…Weist should Inject a more balanced attack …
I hope we get a big turnout for signing day. It is a fun event and its important to support our football program with all thats going on in college football these days.
Unfortunately, many of us are working at that time and the firewall will prevent us chatting. But I would like to submit a question anyway that you might address. I caught your appearance on CPTV this week and was intrigued. Apparently there is some skepticism that TJ Weist will have the customary autonomy of an OC? He won’t be doing his own playbook? Style of offense will basically remain the same? Defense to win the games? DeLeone will outrank him despite being kicked upstairs? Personally, I am against radical changes, but this is a huge issue. Please discuss. My ticket renewal may hang in the balance here, UMD and UMI visits notwithstanding.
Wow!
So we have a “new” OC but the plays will be same as the ones from last year.
I’m strongly considering NOT renewing my tix. There’s plenty of better things I could use the money on. I can easily buy individual game tix for the one or two desirable home games.
I dont disagree with this comment. If it wasnt for UMich and UMar on the schedule this year I think you would be lucky to get 17k-18k seasons tickets. Next year will be worse
I think the principles of what UConn does on offense will remain the same. I think T.J. Weist will be able to do his own thing. I don’t think we need to be skeptical about everything and everybody related to UConn football all the time.
DC, your words entirely: “We are hearing that there won’t be much change.” You are also the guy who said there was skepticism about Weist’s independence. This is not coming from me. You’re on tape.
If it turns out that things will be the same, at least we are led to believe that they will all be gone at the end of next season.
