Mailbag Aug.2: Your Opinion, Most Important Piece To 2012 Puzzle?
Q: I know it’s unfair to put too much weight on any one kid’s shoulders, but in your opinion who is the most important piece to the 2012 puzzle? I have my opinion but wanted to hear what you thought. 4 weeks. Praise the Lord. Chris, CT
A: I think it’s unfair too but let’s be real: Who gives a poop about fairness anymore? Anyway, I think it’s the quarterback position. I think JC transfer Chandler Whitmer will emerge as the starter there so I would say Whitmer. He’ll welcome the weight. Any quarterback at any level should. Yes, Praise the Lord!

After QB, replacing Moe Petrus a four-year starter, three of them at center, and replacing “Mr.Clutch” Dave Teggart.
Your latest blog post hits on my key guy. They need to do whatever it takes to keep Jimmy Bennett healthy. Throw a red shirt on him during practice….whatever it takes. Masters is a much better OG than a tackle in my opinion. Whitmer won’t be able to do much without his blindside protected.
Agreed. This team has the Potential to do big things if we get quality play out of the QB position.
