Q: Who can replace WV on the schedule?, TK Colchester
A: Hey TK. Well if it’s not Boise State then for UConn it’s likely an FCS or I-AA school. Who that could be I don’t know but I think the league and its members would like the Broncos in for this season. It’d be a pretty sweet deal for fans to see Boise at the Rent this year, right? My understanding is that would be the case since they would essentially be replacing West Virginia and the Mountaineers were scheduled to visit The Rent this season.

If we can’t get an 8th team on board the league schedule will have to be adjusted to balance the schedule. We cannot play 4 away and 2 home league games. That means that RU, Ville, Cuse, or USF would come to the Rent for the second consecutive year. Ironically, the Big 12 was forced to do this last year after Nebraska left.
What does this mean? It would make it easier for us to schedule a bigger name opponent and make it a road game. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to this. Best case is Boise is in for 2012. Needs to happen fast though.
