Mailbag Jan. 22: Can You Explain Long Delay in Announcing The New OC And DC

Q: Hi Dez,  Can you explain the long delay in announcing the new OC and DC?  I know that the head coach is out on the recruit trail, but wouldn’t it help having those coordinators in place and to be able to tell a kid you are going to be playing for_____________.  It was talked about how not giving Kevin Ollie a contract at the being of the season hurt recruiting, and i would think the same without these coordinators named.  Am I over reacting? John, Branford.

A :I can’t but John I think we’ve  known for a bit that T.J. Weist from Cincinnati was going to be the offensive coordinator. It’s not official yet but it should become so this week, maybe it’s announced today or tomorrow or at some point. I think other coaching moves will be announced around the same time.
