Mailbag Jan. 25: Trevardo Williams And Senior Bowl?

by Categorized: Mailbag Tagged: , Date:

Q: Hi Dez, Looks like  ESPN (Todd McShay especially) have been very impressed with Sio Moore so far at the Senior Bowl, and Blidi Wreh-Wilson seems to be having a strong week of practice at well, which is great for them and the UConn program. They haven’t been as complimentary about Dwayne Gratz, but he’s a gamer and could surprise some people on Saturday. My question is about Trevardo Williams though. The last report I saw (by ESPN, anyway) was that he was missing practice for undisclosed reasons. Are you able to shed any light on the possible reason(s) for this? Do you know if the UConn coaching staff is aware of any injuries? Thanks for all you do and for getting us our UConn football fix year-round! Tim, Lebanon, CT

A: Hey Tim. Trevardo sustained an ankle injury. Sio Moore is replacing him. Sio had a solid East-West game and is catching some attention. This will be another opportunity.

Why didn’t the folks at ESPN know that? The praise for Sio and the comment about Williams being a mysterious holdout were in the same article. You’d think they woulda known how Sio got there! Thanks for the info!
