Q: What’s good old friend?  Really not happy with the state of my first sports love (college football).  It doesn’t seem like anyone is interested in doing what’s best for the sport anymore.  The only thing that people seem to care about is “what’s mine”.  It’s really a sad state of affairs right now.  Turning my attention to my Huskies….with the spring semester over and grades in, can you report that everyone is in the clear academically? – Chris, CT

A: True…you can’t see my face but trust that I’m smiling because you’re back. It was great seeing you and your son at the spring game. And the words of encouragement…I know things happen but we need you. I need you to check in more, OK? As to your question there is one academic casualty, reserve redshirt sophomore tight end Mark Hansson is in eligible for the upcoming season. He  had a real good spring, too.  Take it easy Chris – don’t be a stranger.

Great question Chris, because now I get to ask: Can I be pissed at Mike Smith for last season? We were so close to another consecutive bowl game last year and I know with Mike last season we would have been at least be one more win better, if not more, think third and 6 against Vanderbilt late, or driving late the next game against Iowa State, second and 2 and then three incomplete passes. Mike would have had some of that there is no doubt in my mind. We should all expect GREAT things this year from Mike Smith! The blog is not the same with out Chris, CT.
