Q: Have you heard any new updates on MD transfer QB Danny O’Brien? I have been hearing he is very serious about Penn State… IIRC, their new HC was an asst. at Maryland…. Thanx…Jeffrey, Hartford

A: Hey Jeffrey. Right now no more than what I mentioned last week that UConn, Penn State and Wisconsin were the schools I heard were showing the most interest. Haven’t heard anything since.

    The ACC filed a complaint with the SEC, making it difficult, at best, for Vandy to be high profile at the moment. I would still expect them to be a player for his services, just quietly

    I thought that I read that Edsall had relented and given his permission for O’Brien to transfer to Vanderbilt along with another player.

      I’m not sure if he “relented” as much as there was a decision made not to stick to the guns on this one. As a result the kid is free to go where he wants. No restrictions. Those were the three schools I heard. Vanderbilt was part of the deal early in the process; not clear if it’s involved now. I’m just going on what I heard as far as the schools interested
