Mailbag May 10: Nervous About Lack Of 2014 Recruits?

by Categorized: Mailbag Tagged: , Date:

Q: Des – getting a little nervous about our lack of recruit commits. We are still at 0 commits for 2014. Texas is up to 14; even BC has 8 including a top talent from CT in Marcus Outlaw. ..never like to see that. I know the staff in on the trail and, if nothing else, I think HCPP has done well in the recruiting department. Is there reason to be a little concerned at this point? Thanks for all the work. – DaveH, CT

A: Hey Dave. I would say no need to get nervous now but I know realistically that’s not enough. I would say the staff is extremely confident in its ability to evaluate talent, trusts their own eyes. What I’m getting at is they will really bear down on who they want after they get them to camp on campus next month. They will work like heck to get kids to camp, evaluate and go from there and my guess is you may see things pick up after that because it happened last year. Really there’s nothing to be nervous about today unless youre a nervous person by nature like me. Also, kids may have made their choices today but I’ve been doing this long enough and you’ve probably been a fan long enough to know that choice may not be the same tomorrow. Have a good weekend Dave…
