Q: Hey DC, I’m sure with the recent news you are busy, but I missed the chat yesterday, but I’m with you I think the AD will go with a guy with an offensive background. Our defense has been great over the last few seasons, but I think the thought of lighting up the scoreboard will really get the Rent rocking. On that note, do you think TJ has to win a certain amount of games to get the gig full time? Also I really hope the Lane Kiffin talk stops very soon. He couldn’t win with 5-star recruits at USC and is a NCAA sanction waiting to happen – Ken, Naugatuck
A: Hey Ken. The AD played on the defensive side though so, we have to keep that in mind and consider it just as much I think. That’s the sense I got talking to him yesterday. I don’t think the guy has to be an offensive minded guy as long as the coordinator is on top of his game. UConn has to get the best coach it can get no matter what side he comes from because I think we can all agree they need to improve in all aspects of the game. I think T.J. has to win. I don’t have any idea how many he would have to win; don’t even want to guess. The team is 0-4. They gotta get No.1 first. Kiffin has a name and there’s a crowd who only cares about that kind of stuff; what he’s done on the field with really talented teams such as the one he was just fired from and his record with the NCAA doesn’t matter – but it should.
