Mailbag Oct.3: What Are Chances At Winning Big East Title?
Q: It looks like uconn is a much improved team. Last year we were 5-7. I believe we have a good chance at going to a bowl this year. What are our chances at winning the big east title? – Raymond Martineau, Steubenville, Ohio
A: The team needs much more improvement Raymond. The good thing is it has the potential to do so. It just has to do it and do it consistently in all three phases. It hasn’t shown that yet. Now is the time. That being said, I think UConn goes bowling. I think the seniors will make sure of that as well as making sure the team makes a run at the conference title. Louisville and Cincinnati look like tall tasks, not impossible tasks though.

Win the BE? Hum! Easy there fella. Lets get 6 wins and get to a Bowl.
I am realistic with this team, I think they can go to a bowl game, but they aren’t winning the BE title this year. Next year we will have a lot more experience. That being said, I hope they go to the Pinstripes Bowl at Yankee Stadium. That way we could go to the bowl game easily.
Going to have to open it up early throwing completions.
Hey Dez, how you doing? Conference play is starting so naturally the focus shifts to BE play/competition. I’ve noticed on more than one occassion that you’ve mentioned ‘Ville and Cincy as the big tests and left out Rutgers. Are you seeing something I’m not because I think this is a good Rutgers team (man, that was hard to write)? Is it a skill position/speed level thing because UConn may match up better with Rutgers? Just wondering.
