Q: Des, Uconn has many football games TBA.  When are the times finally determined.  Do the schedule makers know that it is hard to make plans when the time of the game is undetermined? QDog, Chicago

A: I hear ya -those TBAs are all Big East games. UConn doesn’t set its schedule for those games. The Big East does. The Big East works with TV, namely ESPN because it has first rights, to set the league game times. Usually – usually – you’ll know two weeks ahead of a time as to the game time. A lot of people don’t like the way it works specifically for the reasons you have pointed out but the reality is that’s the way it is. We all have to do deal with it. Thanks man.

MG, in my seat before noon, breakfast starts around 8:30. Noon games our group goes with a breakfast menu. So we tag them as breakfast games. My least favorite because it uses up the entire day. Nest obligations have to be put off.

You will find that also parents with children involved in midget football, and a myriad of other sports have practice or games. I have seen midget football teams show up at half time.

As for comparing BB with football this is like pineapples with cockatoos. When is the last time you saw a game day experience at a bb game include 30,000 people tailgating several hours before and at least one after?

You are missing the point. Many folks especially with a tight budget like to see what they are paying for. Not everyone like yourself can shell out the ching for games they may not be able to attend.

No malice just say’n …..I feel for a fact TBA does hurt season ticket sales.

i think when fans come early, sit in their seats throughout the game (and not at the nearest beer garden) and stay until end, they can complain about not knowing kickoff times in November.

Are you saying folks won’t buy BB tickets until they see tip off times?

Another reason a new D-1 program has a hard time selling out. Last minute does not cut it in today’s world. Too many breakfast games does not help either.

Why would a well organized person buy tickets to games that are not scheduled? This by teams representing institutions of higher learning? I am not making this up…

TBA is not that bad. Most years it comes down to 3 or 4 games. As a 9 year season ticket holder I’ve yet to talk to anyone that likes week night games. Hope the new TV package will eliminate all or most of them.

dont count on it. the league is going to need exposure and the network needs to fill dead air time on wed, thur, fri nights. Dont be suprised in the future if you see way more weeknight games

Someone told me that Mike Neibrick had 4 TDs for Fordham in his first game. Is that true? Keep them off the schedule in the next few years. That would look bad.

    • UC Blue says:

he had 4 3 of them rushing rushing. 10 rushes 53 yrds. passing he went 4-8 for 36 yrds with 1 td. not the starter at fordham looks like the use him either in a blow out situation or like we use mccummings. they won 55-0

      • Mike says:

He was Patriot league offensive player of the week. They don’t give that to players in blowout situations. You are probably right about them using him in wildcat situations.

Dez,what happened to Rennick Bryan?I heard he is at Dean College?

DC my man, I have always disliked this but its the way things go with college football. Flexibility is the key word here but I can definitely understand why people would be frustrated.
