Maryland QB Danny O’Brien Transferring And UConn Is Believed To Be Interested
What’s goin on?
Hey, I’m hearing UConn does in fact have interest in Maryland transfer quarterback Danny O’Brien, the ACC Rookie of the Year in 2010.
Now Maryland would have to give permission to release O’Brien obviously and Terps coach Randy Edsall, formerly of UConn,
has reportedly already denied his transfer request to Vanderbilt.
What do you think he’d say if O’Brien threw out UConn as an option?
Well, who knows but it is unusual for a school to release a player to a school that is on its schedule(s).
UM and UConn are scheduled to play in College Park on Sept.15 of this season and Sept.14 in 2013 – at Rentschler Field.

we already have 5 qbs that cant throwthe ball 10 feet.build the d-line up.
A good way to start the day ray-ray. I like the comment.
Edsall would never grant a release to UConn forget about it!
Um, Dave, we already have one on the roster.
Personally, I’d pass. We have enough QB’s in the fold right now and have other glaring needs. Also, the rumors from College Park has been that DOB was one of the ring leaders dividing the locker room down there. If he gets beat out by Whitmer do you really want this kid in the locker room pouting for 2 years?
The risk is not worth the reward IMO. DOB did not play well last year. Let’s just roll with what we have.
It has been reported that Edsall will not allow O’Brien to transfer to any school on Maryland’s schedule, in the ACC or Vanderbilt. It is a nice thought though.
I’m all for anything that significantly upgrades the level of competition we have at QB. We need it.
Do we have a chip to offer? This would make six in the stable?
I would gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.
I would prefer more depth on the lines and the D corners.
