National Letters Of Intent Getting To UConn

What’s goin on?

Ansonia High running back Arkeel Newsome, the UConn Football program’s first-ever Parade All-American, is the most recent recruit to send his letter which has been received at UConn so the state’s all time leader in rushing yards and touchdowns is officially a Husky.

UConn Coach Bob Diaco will be able to talk about Newsome and the rest of the Class of 2014 today. He’ll address the media by teleconference at 3:30 p.m.

So far, to this point, UConn has announced it has also received these letters as well:

Steve Hashemi, 6-5, 260 OT, St. Joseph-Trumbull

Alec Bloom, 6-6, 234, TE, Ligonier (Pa.) Valley

Tom Rodrick, 6-3, 220 RB, Leicester, Mass.

Daniel Oak, 6-6, 265 OL, Fort Myers Fla.

Ron Johnson, 6-0, 215 RB, Naples, Fla

Luke Carrezola,, 6-3, 230 LB, Langhorne, Pa.

Anthony Watkins, 6-1 CB, Lawrenceville (N.J.) Prep

James Atkins, 6-4, 255 DL, Blair (N.J.) Academy

Ryan Crozier, 6-4, 297 OL, Plantation, Fla.

*LB Chris Britton, 6-3, 207 Harrisburg, Pa., and Jamar Summers, CB, from Milford Academy are mid-year enrollees and committed to the Huskies last year but are part of Class of 2014
