Ian Campbell, a 6 foot 5, 225 pound tight end from New Jersey has committed to UConn.

Campbell, of Pequannock Township, who was visited earlier this month said he liked the campus and the coaching staff.

Campbell visited Rutgers, which is about a half hour away from him, Temple and Virginia, this month. He last visited Rutgers (camped) on Saturday. He had been there several times and said he probably would have gotten an offer from the Big Ten-bound Scarlet Knights.

He has told the other schools, interestingly, that he’s closing off communication with them because his decision is set….

“I liked the school and campus,” Campbell said. “The coaching staff at UConn was great, they made me feel welcome. They really wanted me there, The facilities, the weight room, locker room were really impressive.”
