Junior safety Gilbert St.louis has re-joined the UConn football team. I tweeted last night I heard he was back. He is after head coach Paul Pasqualoni announced Saturday that the 5-11 St.louis said he was transferring.

Also the Best vs. Rest scrimmage at Rentschler Field today. It is closed to everyone. The scrimmage features the first team against the reserves. I’m hearing there will likely be a few more receivers and defensive backs running with the best…

MHF…You are 100% correct the options on the shaded away team side of the field are much easier to upgrade on.

We do sacrifice location to have the back of the team and the sun. Then again do not sit on our side with out a visor.

I guess everyone is ok with the status quo around here. I don’t think every practice should have been open to the media, but I do feel that at least one should have been opened to them this week, to keep the flow of practice information going prior to a very important season.

As far as season tickets are concerned, I have had a very different experience this year from many of you. I moved from Section 204 to 241, a full 2 sections over and closer to the 50! Ticket sales must have been awful for this to happen, as I was really surprised (we don’t have BBall tickets). Also, friends of ours requested to stay in the same seats in 204, about 4 rows behind us. When they found out our group had moved, they called up the ticket office, requested to be in Section 241, and there tickets were moved 4 rows behind us! While this was great for us, I feel like UConn is really having a tough time selling 3yr season ticket packages this 4th go around. The toughest yet, hence my opinion that we need to keep the flow of practice information going to get people excited…

I was also treated well although I wanted to be high on the press box side which many people may not find desirable. I also renewed immediately which may make a difference.

@ MikeCon…I went through the same problem trying to upgrade as this was a transition year.

After a few calls to the very friendly folks at the ticket office I realized I simply do not donate enough. That and I do not have men’s or women’s basketball tickets. That counts for a lot of points.

I questioned the situation as this is a down year for ticket sales and was told, although a down year there were many looking for up-grades.

Bottom line, we are two rows closer to the field but three yards further from the fifty!

What stinks is having paid $50.00 a tick and having top of The Rent holders for $10.00 sitting in close proximity. A gamble we all take not wanting to miss the big one.

The next couple of years with The Big East and the progression of the team will determine what many of us will do.

At least Nick gets it. Glad they are practing at the Rent…glad it is closed to observers. It will be wide open on August 30!!

The writing is “on the wall”, we get great things from St.louis this season, he has already provided one!

@ Marblehead Husky Fan – chill holmes. Only a few practices are open to the media and fans and this ain’t one of the them. That’s just the way it is.

Now, if you’re interested in seeing a closed practice you might want to try sneaking into the dorms behind the practice fields and then, so that the rest of us know what’s happening, post a play by play online.

Sounds like a cool scrimmage going on today that ABSOLUTELY NO ONE is going to hear about.

Come on UConn! We the fans deserve better. 12 days before Game 1 of the season and you want to hit the mute button on media coverage??? There is a lack of hype leading into this season, coming off a 5-7 season last year (as evidenced by Season Ticket Sales)and I would think you would want provide more to us?

Strange how I keep hering that season ticket sales are down, but I was unable to retain the seats that I had for the past six years. I was told that they had to move me to accomidate someone with more points than me that want the seats that I had. If ticket sales are down, maybe it is partly due to teh way the ticket office treats their loyal followers.

      • UCONNFB says:

Mike–good point. I have had the same 4 chair back seats since opening day at the Rent. Every renewal went smooth–until this year. Recv’d a call from the Ticket Office advising that my seats would be moved to a less desirable location, higher up and away from midfield. Had to raise some hell, threatened to call both Obama and Romney, before the Ticket Office agreed to put me back in my seats. What happened to “customer service”?
Confession–I only have the direct line phone number of one of the 2 presidential candidates!

The Game is in 12 days??? Today is the 21st, the game is the 30th?? If my math serves me correct the game is 9 days away right???? Some season ticket holder you are hahahah

      • Marblehead Husky Fan says:

Last day of Media Coverage for practices was on Saturday, August 18th. The 1st Game is August 30th. I’ll let you do the Math, Nick.

        • Nick G says:

Just because all practices are closed from here on out, Does not mean anyone is going to hit the “MUTE” button on UConn football Media news, we will still get our news. Just not as much detail or photos….We fans are still going to get our Fix from now until game time.. I rather Practices be closed 2 weeks in advance anyways, why give our oppenents a heads up on what we are doing w more eyes on the field and whos doing what…Let the guys practice everything possible, without having to hold back becasue media is watching….
