Yea Pablo, your brillant stick to soccer. Your reasoning can solve everybody’s problems? Wow!

  2. roberttherugguyraleigh says:

September 8, Maine v. Boston College or the Big East Game of the Week which is also the best ACC game in the area that week. So much for New England being Boston College turf.

  3. Alan W. says:

UConn vs Buffalo is the Big East Network’s game of the week??? That must be one slow week for the conference.

  4. Pablo says:

We need more Thursday and Sat night games. Especially early in the season before it gets cold. Nov and Dec day games. I realize money talks, but the future is colleges having their own statewide networks. The whole thing about football being king is fiction. IN Texas it is; in the SEC it is; in the Big 10 it is (save Purdue, Indiana, MSU, Illinois, and Northwestern). In the Big-12 it is (save KU, KSU). But, sooner or later the big football schools (e.g. Texas, Bama) are going to stop sharing their football revenue. Their conferences are just getting bigger and creating less reason for them to share. The superconferences will explode and then implode all in the next 5 years. UCONN should go Independent in football and the Big-East should organize around the remaining original members (plus ND) and play all sports except football. Bastketball would again be the bigEast bread and butter. Make ND agree to simply play UCONN and UMASS. Thus, GTown, Nova, Seton Hall, StJ, UCONN, Prov, ND, and UMASS.

BIG EAST regains its identity and region (ND is 1/2 east coast Catholic school anyway) and the old home and home format. Football teams are independents, but each school (ND, UCONN, and UMASS) each agree to schedule one another.
Sure beats playing in the refigured Conf USA.
Sat noon is the worst. No wonder folks are still tailgating at kickoff. Barely enough time for two bloody mary’s.
