Taft-Watertown’s Quentin Harris Set To Choose A School; His Thoughts On UConn

What’s goin on? Taft-Watertown quarterback Quentin Harris  is set to announce his college choice before noon Friday he tells me.

Harris is a Class of 2015 recruit who also plays baseball. He wants to play both sports in college and his choices are accommodating him. Duke, Boston College, Dartmouth, Harvard, Yale and Princeton are the schools Harris, the only quarterback UConn focused on in the Class of ’15, will be choosing from.

When we last spoke to Q he wasn’t in a rush to make a decision but he said the time feels right.

“I’ve just been talking to my parents and everything and I’ve seen all  the colleges that I’m choosing between and I’ve got a chance to get a feel for the environment each college has and the game day atmosphere and the direction each program wants to go in and what they’re kind of planning to do with me when I get there schematically-wise if I fit or not,” Harris said by phone. “I think I’ve gotten a good feel for that and I think my parents have also gotten a good feel for it so I think I can make a proper decision now.” With respect to UConn…Harris said he thinks the program is headed in the right direction but… “I just feel like I want to get out of state, kind of be apart from my parents a little bit more,” Harris said. “I think UConn is a great school and everything but I think I just had that connection with some of the other schools. I think definitely UConn is going in the right direction with Coach [Bob] Diaco. I definitely wish them the best of luck.” DC
