Frosh QB Richard Lagow On Adjusting…
UConn Athletic Communications — February 15, 2013 – Lagow Signs Letter Of Intent
STORRS, Con. (Feb. 15, 2013) — Richard Lagow, a 6-6, 213-pound quarterback from Plano, Texas, and Plano Senior High School has signed a National Letter of Intent to enroll at the University of Connecticut. Lagow becomes the 23rd member of UConn’s incoming class of freshmen.
Lagow was named 2012 All-District 10-5A first team at Plano. He was 109 for 182 in passing as a senior for 1,968 yards and eight touchdowns. Plano played in Conference 5A Division I playoffs. As a junior, Lagow was 119 for 221 in the air for 1,653 yards and 13 TDs.
Richard Lagow, the 6-6, 220-pound quarterback from Plano, Tx., who committed to UConn in June has confirmed his commitment to the school.
Lagow did not sign a letter on intent day in order to think the decision thorough a little more with his family.
He tweeted and confirmed his decision with the Courant Friday Morning.
Lagow is the third quarterback committed to UConn for 2013 along with 6-4 Tim Boyle of Xavier-Middletown and 6-5 Kivon Taylor of Grady High in Atlanta.
What’s goin on?
Hope all are safe and doing safe things…
UConn head coach Paul Pasqualoni got 6 foot 4 Tim Boyle from Xavier High in Middletown and 6-5 Kivon Taylor out of Grady High in Atlanta. The Huskies received a commitment from 6-5 Richard Lagow, of Plano (Tx.) but there hasn’t been announcement regarding his signing.
The Huskies have 6-2 junior Scott McCummings on the roster along with 6-1 Chandler Whitmer who stared last year and 6 foot Casey Cochran who will be a redshirt freshman.
So, as of now, the Huskies will have five quarterbacks competing in the fall, maybe six. Half will be 6-4 or taller.
“At the position, we’ve got Chandler, who is an older guy, so he’s obviously developing and already next year going to be in his junior year and well along academically and we had a chance in Timmy and we had a chance …with the players we were recruiting to get a bigger, taller, version, if you noticed, the guys we took are not the same from a profile standpoint,” Pasqualoni said on national signing day Wednesday Continue reading
Q: Dez, Thanks for doing such a great job. Have you heard anything about Lagow lately? Is he coming? Paul, Worcester MA
A: Hey Paul. Nah haven’t heard anything since signing day. He said then he needed time to talk to his family. Good kid with an important decision to make. Should take all the time he needs.
What’s goin on?
We’ve been a little short on UConn football news lately. Camp closed to the media on Saturday. The season will be here soon enough, less than 10 days now.
We’ll have media availability Sunday in preparation for the season opener at UMass. The Huskies begin preps for the Minutemen on Saturday.
For now, here’s one for you recruiting heads: an interview I did today with Plano, Tx. High quarterback, 6 foot 6, 218-pound Richard Lagow, a 2013 commit to the UConn football program Continue reading
UConn’s latest commitment is QB Richard Lagow, a 6-6 218-pounder from Plano (Tx) High.
He’s a three-star kid by most accounts.
A big QB….from Texas
Gotta be straight at that position at all times if you want to build.
