UConn Coach Pasqualoni On New Assistants On Recruiting Trail: “Gave Us Energy Coming Down The Stretch”
Snowy Friday – be safe all..
What’s goin on?
UConn Coach Paul Pasqualoni gave props to new offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach T.J. Weist and running backs coach/special teams coordinator Kermit Buggs for their efforts down the stretch on the recruiting trail.
UConn received 24 commitments for the 2013 class. Weist and Buggs were officially hired last month.
“When Kermit come in and got right out recruiting and T.J. got in and got going it kind of gave us a little energy going down the stretch, coming down the final turn of this this thing” Pasqualoni said after talking about the class Wednesday. “I think it kind of helped us with the guys they knew. You know, fortunately, Kermit Buggs knows the East Coast. He was a high school coach in Virginia, he was at Penn State for eight years so this isn’t his first rodeo. He knows a lot of people up and down the coast. Kermit got in there, helped us, got the 2014 recruiting going there, helped us finish up, was around every weekend, recruiting like crazy when the kids were on campus
“And T.J. just talking to kids on the phone and reassuring them and sitting down with them when they were on campus, really, really helped us. I would say the addition of those two guys was positive, very positive for us.”

Great Picks for Assistants. I think they did a great job on Wednesday and they both came from great programs and bring big time recruiting experience with them. Can’t wait to see what kids they find in the future.
+1
T.J.and da Buggs I love it. I like both hires and they spoke very well at the signing event. Kind of like they had been here for more than just a few weeks.
Takes a little edge off the BE situation anxiety not… but something positive for a change. Now if they can just help us become the Boise of the east all will be well…..
