Hearing there have been coaching position changes but I want to get them right and confirmed  before saying anything – but – one I hear involves offensive line coach Mike Foley, a coach the players love and respect there,  moving from that position to another, possibly tight ends, a responsibility coach George DeLeone had along with his offensive coordinator responsibilities. I’m hearing Coach D moves to the O Line, a position he’s held and excelled in throughout his career, too.

Anyway, trying to get confirmation here. Right now that’s just what I’m hearing.

I do know this:

- C Moe Petrus is playing in the East-West Shrine Game Jan 21, 4 p.m. at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. Game is on NFL Network

- DT Kendall Reyes is playing in the Senior Bowl Jan.28., 4 p.m., Ladd-Peebles Stadium, Mobile, Ala. Game is on NFL Network

- K Dave Teggart is playing in the Players All-Star Classic on Feb.4, 3 p.m. War Memorial Stadium, Little Rock, Ark. That game can be seen Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast and Cox Sports Television.

- OT Mike Ryan is playing in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl All-Star game, this Saturday, Home Depot Center, Carson, CA, 3 p.m., NBC Sports Network

- RB D.J. Shoemate is expected to receive his medical redshirt for 2012.

- FB Mark Hinkley graduated in December and is expected to move on and not return to the team in 2012.

Hinkley doesn’t graduate until May ’12; HCPP could still offer him a scholarship for his final year of eligibility and he could do UConn grad school, correct? Will any info re scholarship offers/availability be more definite after Signing Day? Not sure there have been many NCAA situations where a program has had 2 walk-ons start all 12 games and then not offer them scholarships. Seems sad.

  2. Rick says:

Foley was well loved by his lineman. This has always been the teams strength kinda of a curious move.

  3. Paul says:

Thanks Dez… great news on Shoemate. I hope he can make this year count and show everyone what he has.
