What’s goin on?

UConn head football coach Paul Pasqualoni said Huskies senior reserve running back Martin Hyppolite, a passenger in a fatal car accident Saturday in New Hampshire, sustained a hip injury but was unclear on the extent.

“The doctors here have gotten all the x-rays and our doctors here and trainers here have spoken with the people in New Hampshire at the hospital,” Pasqualoni said. “You know, it’s just going to be a matter of how fast he heals. At this point, I’m not clear on what the timeline on that is but the information I’ve gotten is, once it heals, it heals.”

Pasqualoni said he hasn’t heard anything regarding Hyppolite’s football future being in doubt.

“No, I haven’t heard anything meaning that this is a career-ending thing,” Pasqualoni said. “I had not heard that but I think it’s somewhat unpredictable to say he’s going to be OK in X amount of weeks or months.”

Pasqualoni said Hyppolite is expected back on campus and in class Thursday.
