Husky Run Will Go On, Oct. 11, starting at Gampel. Details Here
The traditional start of the UConn men’s basketball campaign, “The Husky Run” is set for Thursday, Oct. 11 at 2:30 p.m. outside Gampel Pavilion. (It starts and finishes there.)
It’s a change this year. Usually its on the Wednesday before first night, but new coach Kevin Ollie is speaking, along with Geno Auriemma, in New York for the Jimmy V. Classic on Oct. 10 and he does not want to miss the run.
In fact, the head coach might be one of the favorites to win it.
If you recall, DeAndre Daniels won The Run last year. … Anyway, mark your calendar for Thursday, Oct. 11 at 2:30 p.m. We’ll post details on registration and the day’s schedule as we get them.
Here is info on First Night, Oct. 12.

I’d like to see Daniels get a chance to make a significant contribution this season. Something tells me that he’ll get his chance. (He should be rewarded anyway for staying at UConn and not jumping ship.)
I totally agree with the above comment. I do think he will get his chance. Remember at one point in time he ws a top 10 recruit in his class. He needed the year to develop into a big east body. He will surprise a lot fans this year in a good way and build for a great year next year.
