The field is set for the Hall of Fame Classic in Springfield, Mass.. (The HoopHall Classic) Jan. 17 to 21 at Springfield College, and among the headliners who will play are Jabari Parker, considered the top recruit in the country, with Simeon of Chicago, and Noah Vonleh from New Hampton Prep, a big man UConn has recruited intensely, and a host of other top-100 prospects. Click here for scheduling and ticket info on the event.

Vonleh’s team will also be playing in the prep showcase at Albertus Magnus in New Haven in November. UConn coaches met with Vonleh again last week, and are hoping to line up an official visit sometime in November, around the UConn trips to Germany and the Virgin Islands. Coach Kevin Ollie visited Parker in Chicago last month. Parker has since cut his “list” to five, and left UConn out, but if he waits until spring to make his decision, who knows? … Ollie, who was in Southern Califorinia late last week seeing Jordan Bell, also touched base with Isaac Hamilton, a shooting guard who currently has a list of five western schools.

UConn is waiting on Philly’s Brandon Austin, who has visited Providence, UConn and Texas in the last three weeks.
