Former Boston Globe reporter Mark Blaudschun, who has his own blog, reports today on some of Jim Calhoun’s possible retirement plans. The possibility of Calhoun doing some appearances for ESPN is a natural, and has been discussed on and off. In his blog, AJerseyGuy.com, Blauds also says the former coach is thinking of writing book, also a natural inclination – but get this: The Coach is considering a regular spot on a new Golf Channel show come next year.
Blaudschun writes:
“The show would be based in Hartford and have many features and segments with Calhoun playing a major role both in studio and at various golf resorts around the world. How about Calhoun and former President Bill Clinton playing a round of golf together? With backers which include Clint Eastwood and former Husky, Celtic and current Miami Heat star Ray Allen a start-up date sometime early next year is both possible and likely.”

Now, that sounds like a pretty sweet gig. On thing is absolutely certain: when The Coach’s hip is fully healed and he is ready to throw away that cane, he is going to be very active in something. He still has boundless energy.

Oh get out of town! I’d even consider retirement for that gig.
