Jim Calhoun’s Statement on New UConn AD Warde Manuel

Here is a statement, released by the school, from Jim Calhoun on the hiring of Warde Manuel as new athletic director at UConn:

“I know our senior administrators have been working very hard to find the best candidate available to become our new Director of Athletics and they are very excited to be able to hire Warde Manuel.

“He seems like the perfect fit for us – someone who is going to help lead us into the future. I am happy and excited to welcome him into the UConn family and I’m very much looking forward to working with him.”

How does he really feel? Releasing prepared statements are an insult to our intelligence. Not just Calhoun but anyone who hides behind a prepared statement.

Response to Ray——–what would you want him to do? Do a press conference at his Boston doctor’s office. I think for the moment a prepared statement is just fine. The JC haters are a lot like the Republicans who despise Obama.
