Two moments really stand out from this season. The opening win against Michigan State really set the stage for a good season. The second was obviously the Syracuse game. That win was totally unexpected and it was a way to end the rivalry.
Van, learn to expect “even-handedness” from a beat writer: I luv, luv, luv K.O. as a coach. Unlike the previous regime, Ollie coaches teams that Do Not start games up 15-5, then throw diff. “Looks” out there, wh/ simply means yanking starters because they missed a 3. As a result, in no time the team would be behind. And converse also held: being behind 26-9 to a week team, then storming back. I love the even keel of an Ollie-coached game. IMO, if K.O.had the Rudy-Gay teams of his 2 years, they might have been 70-3, w/ a Nat’l Champ.
I do know the very talented D. Daniels’ mid-section feels better w/ this coach, hence his fine play this yr – an ex. of same player, diff. coaches.
Disappointing, uninspired end to a Lost season.
Nappier to the NBA? …Do you know what they call a short slow NBA Prospect (Khalid El Amin )
I hope there’s good turnout for Saturday’s game. The team deserves it.
I’ve had season tickets since 1960 (I was 6). Although I know it’s never going to happen, I’d like to see more games (and big games) at Gampel and that they move the students into the lower bowl.
We’re at the point of giving up our Civic Center tickets because, quite frankly, the crowds there suck. The level of negativity just kills the experience. We trade with other ticket holders and move around the arena a bit. For every three people it seems that there’s one supportive, one sitting on their hands and the third bitching and moaning incessantly. Maybe it’s because alcohol is available, I don’t know but at times it’s unbearable.
They are the only team (major team) banned due to poor grades..they earned the moaning.
Get a life Joanie [or whatever your name is]. Your comments are stupid, demeaning, and not appreciated.
Actually a great season for this coach and team, given the major loss of starting talent, few programs could have gotten to 19 wins. Look at KY, filled w/McDonalds, didn’t do anything. We have a lot to be proud of. The guards developed well, the forecourt needs a major big to compete at this level. I look forward to next season, a healthy team with a few good additions! Thanks Huskies.
