It’s unfortunate that UConn is saddled with a president and an athletic director who seem to be out of their league. While the world crumbles around UConn athletics, there is ZERO, NADA, ZIP coming from leadership. What a sad day for UConn, no leadership, no direction, how embarassing. UConn athletics has become a joke under this regime.
could not have been said better calusasouth – Manuel was supposed to be Herbt’s rock star. More like Michael Bolton dressed in drag!
Why can Uconn use these exit fees from these schools who already planning to leave or left the Big East such WV, Cuse, Pitt, ND, Lv, and use that money to expand the football stadium?? Then also Uconn should start playing two teams from the same conference either from Big 10 or ACC every year to show they are capable to play against them. Then who know in two to three years from now, Big 10 or ACC will start calling Uconn to join the newly conference. Remember once Big East conference disolves, Uconn dont have to pay the exit fee nor have to have a waiting period to leave the conference. Meaning they can join the conference right away!! What is the different Lville and ND to join ACC in 2015 while Uconn can join a conference right away in 2015? Someway, things may not favor Uconn now, but in the next five years, things may favor UConn big time cuz they will not have to pay any exit fee, to have a waiting period, etc!!!
If Uconn can try to start playing game, they should give Boston College a call and see if they can leave the ACC cuz Boston College have not improve their football or basketball since they joined ACC. So if they can try to leave, and hopefully the Big 10 can invite both Uconn and BC. Would that be awesome to have Uconn, Rutger and BC in the same conference??
