Kevin Ollie, Huskies, To Make Holiday Visit to St. Elizabeth House in Hartford

by Categorized: Kevin Ollie, UConn men's basketball

The problems of poverty and the homeless close to home are meaningful to Kevin Ollie.

He and the Huskies will be visiting the St. Elizabeth House, which operates a transitional living program in Hartford, next Monday to help celebrate the holidays there.

St. Elizabeth houses 44 previously homeless adults in single rooms. They can stay for up to two years as they address the issues that caused them to become homeless. Ollie, the coaches and players, who play at Madison Square Garden on Thursday and Friday, and play Loyola (Md.) at the XL Center next Tuesday night, will arrive at St. Elizabeth House on Main Street at 4:30 p.m. on Monday to distribute non perishable food, serve dinner and visit for an hour and a half or so with the residents.

We’ll have more as the event arrives.
