MIAMI – Still in transit to the Virgin Islands. Have a short layover here in Miami, so let’s catch up quickly.

We will do our weekly live chat from St. Thomas as usual, Thursday, tomorrow, at 10:30 a.m. I will jump in about 11 and stay til noon.

Terrence Samuel said this morning via twitter he “can’t wait” to sign his letter of intent. Nothing yet on Kentan Facey, UConn’s other commit. I’ll pass along as soon as I hear something, later tonight.

UConn announced Kevin Ollie has pledged $100,000 of his own money to help build the proposed basketball training facility. He’s making a pro-rated portion of $625,000 to coach the Huskies this season, so it’s a big chunk of h is salary.

  1. Mike McManus says:

Don, I could not figure out what was wrong with Napier in the first half yesterday…he was going through the motions and had no intensity, which is uncommon for him. Conversely I am really impressed with RJ and agree with KO’s comments about him. The guy comes in and plays hard every minute, rebounds, plays good “D” and sets a great example for his team mates. What I don’t understand is that UCONN players don’t seem to have any anticipation about rebounding; when Olander shot from the corner, there was absolutely no one near the basket. Not only don’t they block-out, they don’t even get in a position to get an offensive rebound. Have you noticed?
