Q: What are Enosch Wolf and Mike Bradley’s roles on this year’s [team]? Enosch has seen increased minutes as of late but I don’t think Bradley has played once!

A: Well, Terence, Enosch obviously does not have much of a role. He did play a couple of minutes at the end of the DePaul game, and a short stint early against Marquette, missing three shots from in or near the paint. The other team extended its lead and the experiment was over. I don’t see him having much of a role with the current roster as it is. They don’t seem to have enough minutes for eight players, so I can’t see a ninth or 10th getting more.

Michael Bradley fractured his ankle in October and had surgery. In January, Jim Calhoun said he was still limping some and may actually need a full year to fully recover. It is possible that Bradley, though he red-shirted last season, could get a medical redshirt and another year of eligibility. I believe UConn wants to preserve that option for him rather than play him what would only be a few meaningless minutes this season.

One Response to Mailbag 2/21: Roles for Michael Bradley, Enosch Wolf?

  1. Michael K says:

Dom, any word (or perhaps your own observation) on how Wolf looks and what he is contributing in practices? To be fair, it’s difficult to assess someone’s abilities when they’re only getting what amounts to a few minutes playing time for the entire season. Then I also understand that when it’s crunch time and nearing the post season, now may not be the time to tinker.
