Question: Hey Dom,  with all the APR stuff going on I haven’t heard much about Uconn’s application to the ACC.  Is that still a possibility?  Any time frame on a decision?  Does Uconn’s current situation factor into it at all?

A: Hi Paul. This has become a back-burner issue for the moment, especially from a basketball perspective. The possibility of UConn joining the ACC is still there, but not really within UConn’s control. The ACC, at 14 teams, would first have to decide to go to 16. Then, from everything I have heard, Notre Dame would have to go in, and then UConn would have a good chance to be invited in as the 16th team. But with ND not yet willing to give up its football independence, this is not hot right now. If a team left the ACC, perhaps UConn would be a candidate to go in as the new 14th team. Again, none of this is imminent, or inevitable. It could  happen, but like the Syracuse and Pitt defections last September, it will probably come out of left field and come together very quickly if it does.
