Shabazz Napier Makes Big East Honor Roll Again

Shabazz Napier made the Big East Weekly Honor Roll again this week, after scoring 55 points in two victories. Napier, who has been Player of the Week twice this season, missed out on the honor this week – it went to Georgetown’s Otto Porter, for the second week in a row.

UConn and Georgetown, the Big East front-runner, play Wednesday night at Gampel Pavilion.

Porter had 33 points, eight rebounds and five steals in Georgetown’s big win at Syracuse.

Napier had a great week, too. He scored 27, including 11 in OT, in the Huskies’ win over Cincinnati, and was dominant start to finish at DePaul on Saturday night. It was the fifth time this season Napier made the honor roll, so his candidacy for player of the year in the Big East has a growing resume. (If they called it the most valuable, he’d be the front-runner, in my opinion.)
