Shabazz Napier Makes Final 25, Wooden ‘Watch List’

by Categorized: American Athletic Conference, Shabazz Napier, UConn men's basketball

The John Wooden Award watch list has been pared down to 25 players, and UConn’s Shabazz Napier is still standing.

Napier, who has 74 points in the last three games, is among the finalists for the national player of the year award, presented by the Los Angeles Athletic Club in April. He still leads the Huskies in scoring (17.4), rebounding (6.2), assists (5.9), steals (1.9) and minutes (34.5).

He has been the American Athletic Conference player of the week twice and made its weekly honor roll six other times. Napier is also on the watch lists for the Bob Cousy Award for top point guard,  the NCAA’s Senior CLASS award, the Oscar Robertson trophy and the Naismith trophy.
