Shabazz Napier On Oscar Robertson Watch List

Another day, another honor for UConn’s Shabazz Napier. He is one of 15 finalists for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, the preseason  watch list for the U.S. Basketball Writers’ Player of the Year Award.

Lats week, Napier was named to the Bob Cousy Award watch list, for the nation’s top point guard. This honor buttresses the point made by Jay Bilas this week, that Napier is one of the top players in the country.

Finalists will be settled upon in mid-March, after which USWA membership will vote. Robertson, the legend himself, will present the award next Aprul 14 at the Devon Energy College Basketball Awards in Oklahoma City. Napier and Louisville’s Russ Smith are the AAC players making the 15, and, of course, they will play each other twice.,
