Shabazz Napier, Ryan Boatright in Elite Company at Skills Academy

by Categorized: Ryan Boatright, Shabazz Napier, UConn men's basketball

As expected, Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatright were both invited to Nike’s Point Guard Skills Academy, which will be in New Jersey this week. It is not open to the public, nor to college coaches – top high school point guards will also be there – but NBA Scouts and GM are invited. Kyrie Irving is hosting the camp.

Rosters came out Monday night.

The academies are invite-only, and the top players from each position camp is invited to the LeBron James academy in Las Vegas in July.

UConn was the only school with two guards among the 12 invited, which really says a lot about the backcourt talent. Others invited:

Dominic Artis of Oregon, Jahii Carson of Arizona State, Semaj Christian of Xavier, Justin Cobbs of Cal, Anthony Collins of South Florida, Aaron Craft of Ohio State, Olivier Hanlan of Boston College, Kevin Pangos of Gonzaga, Trevor Releford of Alabama and Markel Starks of Georgetown.

I am planning to attend the media session  this week, so I’ll have some stuff from there …

DeAndre Daniels is invited to the Kevin Durant Skills Academy for wings o n Friday in Washington, D.C.
