UConn-Bound Kentan Facey Is Gatorade Player of the Year in New York
Kentan Facey, who will be coming to UConn next season, is the Gatorade Player of the Year in New York.
He’s the second in a row to come to Storrs with that honor in his pocket; Omar Calhoun won the award in New York last year.
Facey, 6-foot-9, committed to UConn after a visit in August. He began to pick up steam as a recruit last summer, and has really grown in reputation since. At Long Island Lutheran, he is averaging 14.5 points, 12.2 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game, and has led his team to a 24-2 record and a berth in the state Class AA semifinals.
Here is more on this from USA Today’s list of state players of the year.
Facey and Terrence Samuel will play together in the Jordan Brand Regional Game on April 13 at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. Looking forward to seeing that.

NCAA tourney off to a fantastic start. This year looks like it could be the best ever. Every team has a chance to win…except for those not invited.
Brilliant analysis. You must of thought long and hard on that one.
That’s all people like that have. Not happy with their own lives.
?
Now that “Hip FLOP” went away we have a new Genius in the room and his name is Jasper. Watch for his next brilliant post–the reason Facey won Player of the Year is that the vote was fixed!
Kentan Facey is coming to UCONN because he knows we don’t need him to go to class. Play well and the grades will come.
They really need to monitor this board before posting and of the messages.
This guy hip hop hood is a total dope and I am sure he feels neglected since his family and few friends never pay attention to him.
this is the most absurd posting I have ever seen.
Yes Kevin Ollie is all that and more. Really glad Calhoun picked him to be the coach. Next year will be a challenge but Ollie will rise to it nicely. UConn is in good hands!
The real KO is coming out now as another of his players is arrested.
You should be arrested for your negativity. We are all sorry your life is so pathetic, that you have to insult everyone behind a dorky profile. But that’s what cowards do…
I posted as Jasper earlier. That’s what my mom calls me when she’s mad when I leave the toilet seat up. It’s my middle name. I’m under a lot of pressure lately because she is always complaining about how messy my room is. I just yell at her, “LEAVE ME ALONE MOM, I AM AN ADULT!” The only thing that makes me feel better is to write dumb things on blogs. I do that between 8 and 16 hours per day. Mom can’t stop that!
Seek help.
Hip Hop, along with being a moron who has no facts to back up your distorted beliefs, you are mentally ill and could do with a labotomy in a mental institution. You must be a great disappointment to your parents who hopefully have more upstairs than you do!
