STORRS - One guy who gets consistent praise around the UConn men’s basketball team is athletic trainer James Doran.

“Without him, I’d still be home stuck in bed right now,” said Andre Drummond, as he prepared to give practice a try on his sprained right ankle.

Doran’s work helps to give Drummond and Jeremy Lamb, who has a sprained right big toe, a chance  to play against DePaul on Wednesday. Both missed practice on Monday, but were giving it a try on Tuesday. With the season on the line in these last six games, it’s going to be all hands on deck. “We’ve got to get this win, simple as that,” said Drummond, who rolled the ankle at Syracuse.

Roscoe Smith, meanwhile, had to leave practice on Monday with a sore left Achilles. He was expected to be very on Tuesday. George Blaney was not sure he’d be able to go.

“DePaul  has played everybody very well,” Blaney said, “they’ve had trouble winning, but they’ve played everybody well. I saw their game against Marquette and they were turning Marquette over – you don’t do that very often. This will not be an easy game for us, they play very  hard.”
