UConn Vs. EWU: Setting the Scene in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT – Checking in on a blustery day in The Park City. UConn and Eastern Washington are on the floor, game time is about 45 minutes away.

UConn has another new lineup, with Niels Giffey getting his first start of the year, replacing Omar Calhoun at the wing. Amida Brimah, DeAndre Daniels, Ryan Boatright and Shabazz Napier are your other starters.

Presumably, Lasan Kromah will continue in the defensive Mr. Fix-It role off the bench.

Webster Bank Arena is filling up, and officials are excited with the ticket sales and buzz anticipated for the game. Think it’s going to be a fun afternoon; lot of new faces here. The largest crowd ever for a sporting event here is 9,091 for NCAA women’s tournament games played here. They are expecting that record to fall today – if the traffic will allow.

I don’t know the name of the tune the UConn Pep Band is playing and it drives me crazy every game – it’s my favorite one that they do.
