Yes, ‘Husky Run’ Is Here Already – Set for Next Wednesday, Sept. 25

If it seems The Husky Run, the traditional start of UConn men’s basketball practice, has come up quicker than usual t his year .. well, it has.

With practice starting two weeks earlier, UConn has pushed up the annual race around the campus to match. The Husky Run will be next Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.. Registration starts at 1:30 outside Gampel Pavilion, which is the start and finish point of the 3.4-mile run around the campus.

You know the drill. Runners get a free T-shirt and free food after the race. The first-place finisher gets a full Nike jump suit.

DeAndre Daniels has been the first player to cross the finish line in each of his two years at UConn.

The first practice, with the  new rules allowing things to begin earlier, will be next Friday, Sept. 27.
