What to watch for
Grad school: UConn assistant Marisa Moseley played for Boston University (2000-04) and ended her career as the program’s third-leading shot blocker (114) … Latham played at Glastonbury High where she led the team to three CCC championships and scored 1,220 career points. Her father, Matt, played football for UConn.
Intersecting roles: The Huskies play Monmouth Saturday at Gampel and St. Bonaventure Sunday at the XL Center. Auriemma is very likely to use the weekend to experiment. “It’s November … We want to play, get better. I look forward to putting my players into uncomfortable situations and see how they react,” he said.
Food and thought: UConn is asking fans to bring non-perishable food donations to Gampel Pavilion this weekend. Members of the women’s basketball team will be at the South and East entrances of the building to help collect donations during the first game of each doubleheader. The first game Friday’s features Monmouth and St. Bonaventure at 5. Saturday’s opener, Boston University and Monmouth, begins at 2 pm. Donations will benefit the Hockanum Valley Community Council. HVCC is an independent, multi-program, private non-profit human service agency. It is dedicated to meeting the needs of the residents of the Tolland County area.
