WHAT TO WATCH

The Panthers have not won since defeating Old Dominion on Jan. 2. They’ve not won a conference game since defeating South Florida in the 2010-11 Big East tournament – 31 straight defeats. In addition, they have not defeated UConn since Feb. 24, 1993, a span of 27 games.

FINAL MEETING:

Unless the teams play in next month’s Big East tournament in Hartford, this will be the final meeting between the programs unless they are reunited someday in the ACC. The Panthers join the ACC next season with Syracuse.

4 x 1,000

This UConn team is just the fourth in its history to field four active 1,000-point scorers. Hartley (1,234 points) did it last season. Dolson (1,147), Mosqueda-Lewis (1,012) and Faris (1,000) this season.

Chasing Maya

Faris is 14 rebounds shy of 750 in her career. If she reaches that milestone, she will join Maya Moore as the players in UConn history with at least 1,000 points, 750 rebounds, 500 assists and 250 steals. … USA Basketball’s Carol Callan will preside over a pre-game ring ceremony during which Geno Auriemma, among others, will receive their commemorative rings for winning the 2012 Olympic gold medal in London. Stewart, Tuck and Moriah Jefferson (U-18] and Hartley [3x3] will also be honored.

  1. Winning is Commitment

If Women are to be on a plain similar to the Men–the Universities must make equal commitments to them in terms of facilities, funding, and recruitment
Agnus is a very very nice lady. I cannot speak to her ability to coach, but 31 losses in a row does not speak well of either the coach or the University, one or both are terribly lacking in commitment to these young ladies.

Mister A please put tomorrow nights stats in perspective its one of the worst teams so when Stewart double doubles and Dolson kills in the post and Hartley has 5 steals lets not heap too much praise on UConn its a high school team at best and if the Huskies cannot win by 50+ there is something wrong

Great if you like 50 point blowouts where one team recruits top 100 high school players and the other team recruits high school jv players

        UConn can’t “win”.

If they dominate the opponent and win by 50 points, people cry foul for lack of parity.

If they win or lose in a close game, people say “what’s wrong” with Geno, and UConn?”

I suppose UConn should turn it’s nose into the air and refuse to play such “lesser” teams, no-matter if they’re on the conference schedule.

Perhaps all the national top-tier programs should only play against themselves?

Pitt has a womens team? Most people think they just grabbed the first 12 women they see on campus the night before hte game and slap a uniform on them.

If we can’t win by 80 then this team is a failure.
