What to watch
Winning ways: UConn’s 36-game winning streak is the third-longest in program history. …UConn’s last loss to Louisville was on March 17, 1993 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, at that point its second straight defeat. The Huskies have not lost back-to-back games since. … The Cardinals had won a program-record 16 straight before losing to UConn earlier this season. It’s only lose was at Kentucky on Dec. 1
Walz to coach with USA: Louisville women’s basketball coach Jeff Walz will be an assistant for the 2014 U18 National Team which will play in FIBA Americas Championship with teams from two continents and the Caribbean. The top four teams then advance to the 2015 U19 World Championship. South Carolina’s Dawn Stanley is the team’s head coach and and Michigan’s Kim Barnes-Arico another assistant with Walz. Members of the U18 team will be determined at USA Basketball’s trials this May.
Smith returns: When UConn defeated Louisville three weeks ago, Smith did not play because of tendinitis of the knee. But she has been back for the last three games which adds athleticism on both ends of the floor. … Louisville’s Senior Night will take place prior to the game
