According to a report in The Chronicle, an Australian publication based in Sydney, Aussie national women’s basketball coach Brendan Joyce has arranged to hold a camp in the United States that will precede next year’s FIBA World Championship in Turkey.

This comes after discussions with WNBA officials that will allow exhibition games against both Geno Auriemma’s reigning world and Olympic champion and matches with some WNBA clubs.

Joyce has apparently received permission to bring his team to the United States for two weeks during the 2014 WNBA pre-season.They will be allowed take their national team players out of WNBA training camps so that they can train together.

Where the camp would be held has not been decided, but Joyce says Phoenix, Indiana, Los Angeles and Minnesota all had shown interest in hosting the Opals.
