Ah, the life of a college graduate.

Caroline Doty will return to UConn for her fifth season this autumn. But she is not in Storrs now with her teammates. Any why should she? There are no classes to attend. Yipee.

Instead, she has been working in Canada.

With a soccer team.

Yes, the sport where all her injury problems began as a high school senior.

“I’ve been up in Ottawa Ontario since May 15, working with the soccer organization the Ottawa Fury.  Since graduating with a sports management degree I am looking to get experience that can maybe set me up for a career once I finish up grad school.

“Recently, I was accepted in Educational Psychology graduate department to expand my possibilities in more careers such as coaching or teaching.  I am interested in a management career either with a team or an individual under a sports agency firm, but if I can get exposure to an athletic department job with teaching and coaching involved I would be very grateful.  Also since the injuries gave me another option of maybe coaching, my education and experience can hopefully land me a possible dream job.

“I am mostly observing management duties for the W-league and the PDL league players.  The players come from all over the country to play in this summer league to gain experience in their sport.  It is my job to keep them organized with the right gear, and organize schedules for when they practice every week.  The best part about being here is to be able to venture out and visit local elementary schools to coach “soccer in school.” It is a little out of my comfort zone as I have been out of soccer for five years now, but the main point to spread teamwork, respect, and fun makes it easy for me to play along.  I love kids so being able to play with them and bring back some old soccer tricks makes the experience even more eventful.

“Throughout my experience I have been exposed to many different kinds of places, met a lot of great people, been able to participate in some Canadian basketball, and learned a great deal about managing a team.  It is an experience of a lifetime and I am grateful I am able to work in such a great place.”

AND IF U DO NOT LIKE IT ALL U CAN BECOME A MODEL AS U R SWEET, CUTE, PRETTY, AND MOST IMPORTANT “KOOL”

I truly believe that Caroline will be successful at anything she undertakes.
Just rest your knee please although I sense you don’t know the meaning of taking it easy.
See you in a few months – the fans can’t wait.

I think she will do very well as she finishes at UCONN and should make a successful coach if she gets in that.

  4. Chris Saran says:

Caroline will make an excellent coach. No feeling sorry for herself. She will successful at whatever she does because of her positive attitude. We all wish that she was one hundred percent, but we’ll take any way we can get her.

Looking forward to her hitting the three again. One season removed from her last surgery, I expect her to elevate her perimeter game (like we used to expect), and be able to shoot off the screens.
Doty is one I’ll never worry about. She’s all heart and hustle. Nothing will stop her from reaching her goals.

Just another reminder that the women Gino recruits are sensible, ambitious, smart (think Skyler Diggins -NOT), and in every way reflect well on their school, their coach, and even CT itself.

I faintly recalled that a while back Geno was quoted as saying he was expecting to hear news from a number of recruits- including ones we haven’t heard about. Yet, only one to be junior has given a verbal. Is Uconn still a serious player for those not yet comitted: Chong, Linnae and McCall?

  9. Caroline is a tough hard working lady. She will succeed in any thing she tries. But in Canada?? I guess she has something against AC. But she will certainly meet very nice people there. Seaton Hall does a great job farming the Canadian Schools, as did ND. But Caroline has one year remaining–hope her three ball returns.

If Carolyn Doty gets a haircut the courant will cover it and everyone will gush over her. There are other players on the team.

It’s because people in CT have known her for nearly 5 years now. She is very outgoing… and other players do get stories too.

Yo Boneyarders, the answer is Adia Barnes.
