We’ve made changes on how to post comments to our UConn sports blogs. The Courant is now using the same method – via Facebook – that is used throughout the www.courant.com website. Below are some guidelines and instructions as posted on our website:
The Courant is using Facebook comments on stories. To comment on courant.com articles, sign into Facebook and enter your comment in the field below. Comments will appear in your Facebook News Feed unless you choose otherwise. To report spam or abuse, click the X next to the comment. Below are some general guidelines:
Posting comments: To post a comment, sign into Facebook and enter your comment in the field on the bottom of the story. To respond to another user’s comment, click “Reply” under the comment and enter your comment in the field that appears.
Personal information: When you post a comment to a courant.com story, your name and profile picture will appear in the comment thread, and both will link directly to your Facebook page. Other information associated with your Facebook account, including your location and occupation, may appear alongside the comment as well.
News Feed: If you do not want your comment to appear in your Facebook News Feed, un-check the box next to “Post to Facebook.” If you choose to let comment appear on your timeline, any additional comments or likes will also appear with your comment on courant.com.
Reporting spam and abuse: To report spam or abuse, click the icon to the right of the comment.
Editing and removing comments: To edit or delete a comment you have posted, click the icon to the right of your comment, then click “Edit” or “Delete.”
Comment moderation: The Courant has the right (but not the obligation), in its sole discretion, to move, remove, edit, block or refuse user comments for any reason, including without limitation that such comments violate The Courant’s Terms of Service or is otherwise objectionable.
