Olympians Tina Charles and Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks were named the WNBA’s Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week.

Charles, who ranks in the top three in rebounds (11.3 rpg) and double-doubles (12) in the league, has won Player of the Week eight times in her career, three this season, including the last two weeks.

Charles  led the Sun to a 3-0 record for the week, including a pair of wins in a home-and-home set vs. Washington and a road victory over Chicago. She averaged  9.3 rebounds and 19.3 points. Charles has scored in double digits in all but one game thus far this season, while her 12 double-doubles and 13.8 rebounds per game rank second in the East only to Chicago’s Sylvia Fowles.
